US-Army hosted International Women’s Day observance in Afghanistan

US-Army celebrated International Women's Day March-Eight in north side of Kabul the capital of Afghanistan. The US--military sponsored the celebration, which consisted of speeches, a musical performance from an Afghanistani band and a fashion show. The theme of the celebration was “Investing in Women and Girls.”

Male and female soldiers were modeled in many different Afghanistani dressed during fashion show at Bagram airport, which is the main center of US-troops base.

Mrs. Husn Banu Ghazanfar of the Afghanistan Minister of Women's Affairs and U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Rodney Anderson, Combined Joint Task Force 82 deputy commanding general for support, cut a cake at the International Women's Day celebration.
